Krinkles set up shop in Western New York

Angelic Dreamz of Canadaigua, NY, features the complete line of Krinkles by Patience Brewster.

"Our store was founding in 1993, we originated in Miami Beach, Fl and after 20 years of Florida living, and putting up with endless hurricanes we decided to move away from the coast and scoured the country for an ideal place. We settled on Canandaigua, New York. Settling into a 130 year old historic Firehouse, in the beautiful Finger Lakes regions of western NY, it was our ideal location. Canandaigua is a historic lake town on the edge of Lake Canandaigua. Our store features the entire line of both Krinkles and D56 Villages."

Last year Patience Brewster made a personal appearance at our store. She will be making another appearance and signing this year at our Christkindl Market at the Granger Homestead here in Canandaigua, where we will be presenting Patience as well as hundreds of Krinkles items during the event. She will be present on Nov. 10th from 2-4pm to autograph ornaments and figures purchased at the event.

The Christkindl market sounds like a great event:

The first annual Christkindl Marketis a juried holiday craft show to be held on the grounds of the historic Granger Homestead and Carriage Museum in Canandaigua, New York. Picture yourself at an open air, European-inspired Christmas Market under large festive tents. Smells of roasted nuts, bratwurst, Gideon's grog, festive holiday decorations, music and a nostalgic horse drawn carriage ride. That's the spirit of Christkindl Market!

It continues the traditions of a time-tested Granger holiday event, 'Holidays at the Homestead'. For the past 12 years the Homestead has invited fine craft people to exhibit at a show and sale for a two day weekend. We have grown out of our space and wish to expand our offering of fine crafts, musical entertainment, traditional and ethnic food vendors, local non-profit organizations and a selection of Canandaigua's finest merchants. At the request of craftsmen and the community, we will extend our festival to three days, November 9, 10, and 11, 2007 and invite 100 vendors. The event will be promoted extensively in all media to ensure the greatest number of visitors. A small gate fee will be charged.

Christkindl Market will benefit the Granger Homestead and Carriage Museum which features an 1816 Federal mansion, western New York's largest collection of antique carriages and farm implements and an 1822 Law office. Its mission is to maintain, preserve, and interpret its structures and collection for research, educational programs, and appropriate private and community functions.

The event will be held November 9 - 11, Friday - Sunday
Friday, 3:00 - 7:00 p.m., Saturday and Sunday, 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Donation: $1.00

The article features tips and informative links on all of the wonderful and scary options for outfitting your decorative halloween villages, including haunted sounds, spooky lights, and flying witches. The story also features information about The 2008 Haunted Rails Engine & Coal Car, and Rickety Railroad Station, two of Department 56's Halloween village pieces created to mark the ten year anniversary of D56 Halloween. While the train itself is ceramic and non-working, you still get the feel of the haunted railroad. The also is not limited to just D56, as it also mentions Disney Villains from Hawthorne Village. An excerpt from the story: "In 1998, Department 56 introduced the first Halloween village collection. Department 56 Halloween Village features spooky castles, flying witches, skeletons, and gravediggers. Many of the buildings are lighted with fiber optic light effects, that fli...

Lego in the news this week

Olin administrator builds Lego Needham Town Hall It turns out that two Town Halls were built in Needham this year. One was the brick-and-mortar building sitting in Needham Center, which underwent renovations and additions and will be officially unveiled at a Needham300 event on Nov. 5.  The other Town Hall is made of Legos.  Nick Tatar, Assistant Dean of Student Life at Olin College, built this second Town Hall at Olin over the course of three months, starting in January. Working with Olin professor Brad Minch and seven children and Olin students, Tatar built the Town Hall out of fifteen thousand Lego pieces, sometimes working 10 to 15 hours a week on the project. On Nov. 5, Tatar will break the Town Hall into chunks and transport it to the other Town Hall. At noon, he will reassemble it, then step back and let people admire his handiwork. Tatar said that he decided to build this Lego Town Hall for kids to enjoy during the Nov. 5 Needham 300 gala. “I wanted to see if we c...
