Voting on D56 poll ends in 2 days...

I created the poll "Which Strategies Would Help D56 the most?" because I feel our audience could help influence changes in the company direction. I tried to come up with the five most logical suggestions. Perhaps next time I'll do the 5 most creative suggestions. I always send my poll data to MsLittown - the Department 56 customer advocate. I'll post her replies here. Thus far:

Lower Prices 36 votes (63%)
* This one is rather obvious. It's difficult being a collector and seeing all the new pieces reach towards the $100 mark.

More Creative Introductions 15 votes (26%)
* Seems like a call out for more creativity. Maybe they should revisit our many suggestion
- My favorite suggestions for Halloween pieces
- More ideas for Department 56 buildings
- Creative ideas Dept 56 should consider
- Set Department 56 to music

Lower Production Numbers 15 votes (26%)
* Less is often more!

Movie/TV Placements 10 votes (17%)
* This would be fantastic. I've suggested that they hook up with original content creators of film, tv and books and create licensed stories, movies, etc.
- Also see More D56 placement in movies

Not Selling Direct 8 votes (14%)
* I thought this one would have more votes. Perhaps they are not as much of a threat to the individual Mom and Pop retailers as imagined.

Less National Chain Dealers 5 votes (8%)
* It doesn't seem like many are opposed to Department 56 being in Lowe's, Macy's, etc.

Christmas delivered by the History Channel

The History Channel 's comprehensive website has dedicated an entire section to " Christmas ". It's a good read, and a great reference for those of us who like to delve into the particulars about Christmas events, trivia, specifics and traditions. Pages within this section include videos on " Santa Claus ", " Christmas Trees ", and the " History of Christmas ". Other content includes a page focusing on " Christmas Around the World ", " The Christmas Truce of 1914 ", as well as quite a bit else.
